A Visionary for Native Heritage

Ronald Lukanda

Ronald Lukanda, an alumnus of Muguluka Primary School, was a passionate advocate for preserving native culture and traditions. Our paths crossed at Kampala City Hall, and from that moment, a deep friendship blossomed. Ronald often spoke about the erosion of native values due to foreign indoctrination, lamenting how traditional practices like medicine, dances, and clothing were wrongly labeled as backward or satanic. He strongly believed that each people had their own way of worshiping and connecting with the Creator, but these practices were never properly documented, allowing outside influences to dominate.

Driven by this vision, Ronald dreamed of creating a “Nativity Association” to revive and preserve native ideologies for future generations. He was a man of strong principles, wisdom, and conviction, whose yes meant yes and no meant no. Though he passed away in 2024, his friends and family have taken up his legacy through  NATIVE HERITAGE, ensuring his vision of cultural revitalization continues to thrive.
